Position Summary

Risk Response Team (RRT) is seeking a driven, relationship-focused Account Executive with demonstrated experience selling security systems and technology integration solutions. This role is responsible for developing new business, expanding existing customer relationships, and delivering technology solutions that improve safety, security, and operational performance.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in physical security systems, security technology, low-voltage integration, or related solutions and understands how security systems are designed, sold, implemented, and supported. Candidates should be comfortable discussing customer requirements, conducting site surveys, developing scopes and bills of materials, and selling complete security solutions rather than individual products.

This role combines business development, consultative selling, and technical sales engineering. The successful candidate will work with customers, manufacturers, engineers, estimators, and project managers to develop solutions ranging from video surveillance and access control to structured cabling, networking, intercom, emergency communications, intrusion detection, and other integrated security systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new business through prospecting, networking, referrals, strategic partnerships, and industry relationships.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with commercial, healthcare, education, municipal, public safety, and industrial customers.
  • Lead customer discovery meetings to understand operational, security, technology, and business objectives.
  • Conduct site surveys and security assessments to identify requirements, deficiencies, and opportunities.
  • Develop accurate scopes of work, equipment lists, system designs, and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Prepare accurate proposals, estimates, and solution presentations.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project management to develop complete technical and security solutions.
  • Present and demonstrate security systems and related technologies, including video surveillance, access control, intercom, intrusion detection, emergency communications, panic/duress systems, structured cabling, networking, and related technologies.
  • Manage opportunities from initial contact through contract execution and project handoff.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, forecasts, and customer activity within the CRM.
  • Coordinate customer meetings, product demonstrations, system evaluations, and proof-of-concept deployments.
  • Identify opportunities for system upgrades, expansions, recurring service agreements, professional services, and long-term customer partnerships.
  • Support project kickoff meetings and ensure a smooth transition from sales to engineering and operations.
  • Represent RRT at industry events, networking functions, manufacturer events, and trade shows.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of successful B2B sales experience specifically involving physical security systems, security technology, low-voltage systems integration, networking, structured cabling, or a closely related industry.

  • Experience managing multiple opportunities and long sales cycles.
  • Ability to understand customer security requirements and translate them into practical technology solutions.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and understand customer requirements.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.

Preferred Experience

  • Direct sales experience with physical security systems, including video surveillance, access control, intercom, intrusion detection, emergency communications, panic/duress systems, or integrated security platforms.
  • Experience selling complete security system solutions rather than individual products or components.
  • Experience with security systems integration, low-voltage contracting, or security consulting.
  • Strong sales engineering knowledge with the ability to design complete customer solutions.
  • Experience conducting security assessments and site surveys.
  • Experience developing detailed scopes of work, equipment schedules, system designs, and accurate bills of materials (BOMs).
