Position Summary

Risk Response Team (RRT) is seeking an Electronic Security Technician to install, configure, service, and maintain physical security and low-voltage systems for commercial, healthcare, education, municipal, and public safety customers.

The ideal candidate is a dependable, self-motivated technician who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys solving technical challenges in the field. This position involves installing new systems, troubleshooting existing systems, supporting commissioning activities, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, and associated infrastructure.
  • Install, wire, configure, and commission enterprise access control systems.
  • Install and configure IP video surveillance cameras, NVRs, video management systems, intercoms, intrusion detection, visitor management, and emergency communication systems.
  • Install and terminate access control panels, intelligent controllers, expansion modules, power supplies, readers, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, locking hardware, and related field devices.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and construction drawings.
  • Configure IP addresses, network devices, and connected security equipment.
  • Perform system testing, commissioning, quality assurance, and customer acceptance testing.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, wiring, and network-related issues.
  • Work with Systems Engineers and Project Managers to complete installations and resolve technical challenges.
  • Document completed work, maintain accurate service records, and update project documentation.
  • Train customers on the operation of installed systems.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, professional job site.
  • Travel to customer sites throughout Georgia and surrounding states as required.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years of experience installing and servicing electronic security or low-voltage systems.
  • Experience with structured cabling installation and termination.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Experience

  • Enterprise access control systems including Genetec Synergis, LenelS2, Software House C•CURE, Gallagher, Avigilon Alta, Verkada, Brivo, Openpath, Paxton, Kantech, AMAG, Feenics, or similar
  • IP video surveillance platforms including Genetec Security Center, Milestone, Avigilon Unity, Verkada, Hanwha Vision, Axis Communications, or similar
  • Installation and termination of access control panels, intelligent controllers, readers, credentials, locking hardware, relays, power supplies, and input/output devices
  • Structured cabling, fiber optic installation, testing, and certification
  • Network switches, VLANs, PoE, and basic IP networking
  • Microsoft Windows and basic server administration
  • Experience commissioning enterprise security systems
  • Lift operation, conduit installation, and commercial construction environments

  • ESA Certified Alarm Technician
  • BICSI Installer or Technician

  • Manufacturer-specific certifications related to security and networking technologies

  • Represents RRT professionally on every job site.
